Fast, effective & detailed floor inspections

Floor inspections are often time consuming, costly and labour intensive. In particular for warehouses which are large buildings with heavy machinery operating, wear and tear takes place at a fast place. There is a need for frequent inspections and still damages may be overlooked or missed. That’s why at Quake a project to automate this process started.

Developing within Quake

Oosterhoff has great experience on visual inspections of different types of structures and infrastructure. In the context of industrial floor advice and concrete damage investigation, Oosterhoff regularly carries out inspections on concrete floors. The results from the inspections provide valuable information to the customer for the purchase/sale process, decisions for repair, the maintenance and in general the management of the whole asset. In order to guarantee a constant, controllable and high level of quality, Quake has identified the potential to automate the floor inspections by using new technologies. In this way the experienced engineer will spend more time and energy on interpretation of the results instead of spending a lot of time trying to identify any defects around the large areas of a warehouse. The client will be provided with a complete representation of any problems around the building. Within Quake and Oosterhoff we have our team of Developers, Machine Learning Engineers and Inspectors working together to make this happen.

Automated floor inspections

We modernize the way that a structure is inspected by implementing cutting edge technologies. With artificial intelligence and computer vision we succeed to automate the floor inspection process and we are able now to deliver faster, higher quality inspection results with lower cost.

With our solution for automated floor inspections, you will have an accurate estimate of maintenance planning & costs. Inspections of large areas happen at fast speed and the automatic crack detection is able to identify even the slightest defects. We are currently using our solution for the inspection of warehouses. We inspect 50 meters long corridor floors only in a few minutes without obstructing the operations of other people or machinery in the warehouse.

Next steps

We are currently expanding our solution to be able to detect different types of defects other than cracks as well as people, machinery and products around the warehouse. We are also building a software dashboard and working on more future improvements.
