Introducing Evolve

We are happy to let you know that Evolve was recently accepted as Quake’ newest project. Evolve is a tool that allows Oosterhoff Group consultants to generate thousands of scenarios in minutes using artificial intelligence so they can make better decisions faster.

Our dream

We believe that AI and digitalization will have a big impact on our field in the next years. Software is used to gain a competitive edge and clients are expecting better and more flexible answers. Evolve augments the expertise of our consultants, allowing them to optimize parameters and explore many different scenarios. This is something that used to take many hours or was simply not feasible. Through Evolve our consultants can apply cutting edge optimization algorithms using Excel. Our dream: enable all Oosterhoff consultants to amaze our clients with the best solutions.

Knowledge

Evolve lowers the barrier to apply evolutionary algorithms: a branch of artificial intelligence that uses mechanisms inspired by biological evolution. At Quake we have a firm belief that this technology can drive innovation at Oosterhoff Group. One example is the work of Sjonnie Boonstra (ABT) who did his PhD-thesis on “Multi-disciplinary optimization of building spatial designs”. We hope Evolve will inspire consultants to get interested in the possibilities of artificial intelligence.

What’s next?

We are working towards our dream by rapidly improving and developing Evolve. This year we will tour the different Oosterhoff Group companies, familiarizing a small group of consultants with Evolve to test it using real world use cases. Continuously learning and adapting based upon those experiences.
