The four modules

The goal of WorkrooM is to make a well-considered choice which aspects of the indoor climate are important for the various functions within your building. The day is made up of different modules; acoustics, ventilation, light and temperature. Each module consists of understandable explanations and experiments to map preferences.

Unique & really good environments

Standard values are often included in a Schedule of Requirements, such as 500 lux for workplace lighting and 60 dB(a) for background noise. But what is 500 lux and what does 60 dB(a) sound like? Do you notice a difference in this? How do you experience this? Is a certain value perhaps better suited for a certain function than for another? WorkrooM is unique in this, it is really based on the needs of the users. We want to create good living and working environments by looking at which conditions are optimal for the user, not by assuming standards based on averages.

Educational & inspiring

Our building physicist Loes Visser teaches the participants to become aware of their indoor climate: “Participants learn theoretically and in experiments about physical elements that play an essential role in the ultimate perception of temperature, light, acoustics and ventilation. In the theoretical part you learn, for example, what a lux actually is, or a decibel. But you also do your own research and get answers to questions such as: “How much light do I need to do my job well?” and “Am I bothered by a certain amount of background noise?” By experiencing the circumstances, we inspire the participants and they can make an informed decision for their project.”

“A number of factors play a role in the selection of new accommodation; functional suitability of the property, location, operating costs and sustainability. Unfortunately, too little attention is paid to the productivity of employees in relation to the indoor climate of the new building! A properly adjustable indoor climate ensures higher productivity. Investments in a good indoor climate therefore quickly pay for themselves. Highly recommended!”

“We visited the Workroom with our team last Friday. In addition to the pleasant reception, it was also an educational experience. We can use the results in future PvEs!”
Hans Joosen, Director of Exaedes Bouwrealisten
